Brownville Historical Society receives $10,000 matching gift

Jim and Deanne Gerking of Brock, Nebraska, recently offered a matching gift of $10,000 to the Brownville Historical Society’s Wheel Museum Preservation Project. The Board of B.H.S. appreciates this challenging gift. The Society has raised $5,222 towards the $10,000 goal. Reaching this goal means you, businesses, non-profits and friends have enabled B.H.S. to open three museums. Over $200,000 in improvements to Brownville has been raised.
Gifts for the matching gift can be marked: “Matching Gift” and mailed to P.O. Box 1, Brownville, NE 68321.
Through the matching gift your donation to B.H.S. doubles in value and enables the Society to continue to prepare the Wheel Museum displays, provide electrical service, restore old documents, murals, country school curtains and repair work.
The Society intends to have a grand opening of the Wheel Museum on October 13, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. during the annual Old Time Autumn Festival. Recognition of donors, music and speakers will welcome the audience, followed by treats and tours.
