Zoe Madron, right, and teammate Jocelyn Clayton, left, placed 1st in their clogging duo at Nationals.
Zoe Madron of Rock Port, Missouri, competed in her first year on the Bearcat Boogie dance competition team out of Maryville, Missouri. She has danced there for four years. Zoe is the daughter of Katelynn Curry and Aaron Madron and the granddaughter of Sonia Rosenbohm and fiance Mearl Hale and the late Brian Curry and Derrick and Kelley Madron.
Zoe and Jocelyn Clayton got 1st in their clogging duo with 4 and 1/2 stars out of 5 and 2nd place overall at Nationals in Branson, Missouri, on June 29-July 3, 2017. The National Champion was another Bearcat Boogie team. Zoe also danced a jazz solo in which she got 4 and 3/4 stars, but did not place in the top 10. Zoe’s 4 and 3/4 stars is her highest score yet out of three competitions so she did great.
Zoe prepared her dance routine by dancing every Sunday from September until the Sunday before Nationals and a few extra sessions. She had a recital, a regional competition in March in Wichita, Kansas, and an optional competition in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, this year. Her 1st competition was Regionals and her solo landed 4.5 stars and 9th place overall and her duo landed another 4.5 stars and 1st place overall. They also attended the optional competition and she did take home trophies.
