Team Cat Scratch Fever

(Peru, Neb.) – Last year, a three-year win streak was broken at the Peru State Football Booster Club Golf Tournament as Team Cat Scratch Fever took down the reigning champs in 2016. The reigning champions returned to the Auburn Country Club the first Friday in August and defended their title as they won by two strokes.
Twenty-two teams competed at the Auburn Country Club under the direction of Booster Club officers Mike Gerdes and Rick Janssen.
Cat Scratch Fever was captained by Bill Campbell of Tecumseh. Campbell is the head men’s golf coach at Southeast Community College in Beatrice. Joining Campbell were Mike Lamb, Cory Scamman (Rock Port, Mo.) – a former Bobcat men’s basketball player, and Jay Hunter (Rock Port, Mo.). Campbell’s team shot a 57 – two strokes better than last year.
