Rock Port Lady Blue Jays compete in Iowa tournament

The Rock Port Volleyball Team competed in a tournament Saturday, September 9, 2017, in Shenandaoh, Iowa. The Lady Blue Jays won two of their four matches.
Rock Port lost to Shenandoah in two games with final scores of 21-29 and 7-21. Individual Lady Jay stats follow: Aces – Abbie Hale and Ashley Cue, 1 each; Kills – Abbie Hale 1; Digs – Catyn Chamberlain and Abbie Hale, 4 each; Blocks – Drue Kemerling and Jentry Freemyer, 1 each; and Assists – Jentry Freemyer 1.
Rock Port won the match against Lenox in three games with final scores of 21-13, 15-21, and 15-6. Individual RP stats follow: Aces – Abbie Hale and Kelcie Gaines, 3 each; Kills – Drue Kemerling and Abbie Hale, 3 each; Digs – Catyn Chamberlian 11; Blocks – Drue Kemerling 3; and Assists – Kelcie Gaines and Jentry Freemeyer, 3 each.
Rock Port lost to Stanton in three games with final scores of 21-14, 18-21, and 9-15. Individual RP stats follow: Aces – Kelcie Gaines, Catyn Chamberlain and Jentry Freemyer, 2 each; Kills – Abbie Hale 5; Digs – Catyn Chamberlain 8; Blocks – Drue Kemerling 1; and Assists – Kelcie Gaines 8.
In their final game of the tournament, the Lady Blue Jays lost to Fremont Mills in two games with final scores of 12-21 and 7-21. Individual RP stats follow: Aces – Kelcie Gaines and Jentry Freemyer, 1 each; Kills – Alivia Baucom, Marisa Carder, Kelcie Gaines, and Drue Kemerling, 1 each; Digs – Catyn Chamberlain, 5; Blocks – Drue Kemerling 4; and Assists – Jentry Freemyer 2.
The Lady Jays’ overall record is 7-7 and they are 3-0 in the 275 Conference.
