The Wolverine 4-H Club met Friday, June 17, at the City Park shelter for a short planning meeting. Ideas for the upcoming Achievement Day at the Atchison County Fair were discussed. After the short planning meeting, the group traveled to the Richard Oswald farm where Cameron and Grace Oswald showed the group their 4-H show animals for this year.
Cameron is showing swine and Grace is showing swine and a bucket calf named Jessie. Goldie Barnes demonstrated for the group how to comb and train the calf’s hair so that it will “poof” out and look great for the show!
Grace and her mother, Tracy, showed the group what the calf eats each day. After a photo op with Jessie, the group then checked out Cameron and Grace’s show pigs.
