On Saturday, August 27, Kavin and Jennifer Wood, new owners of River Rock Lanes, held their Grand Opening Celebration. The Rock Port Chamber held a ribbon cutting in recognition of the event.
Around 40 patrons gathered at lunch time to enjoy the free hot dogs and hamburgers or ordered off the menu that was half price all day.
The woods had specials on bowling and held $5 Cosmic Bowling on Saturday night. Several prize drawing were held. The grand prize tickets to the Chiefs vs. Green Bay game went to Seth and Katie McEnaney. The 1st place winner, Jon Bywater, received a $50 gift card to the Wood’s Shed. The 2nd place prize was a River Rock Lanes $20 gift certificate and Adam Liess took it home.
Off to a great start, River Rock Lanes offers a menu with cafe favorites as well as daily lunch specials: Monday- Mexican, Tuesday- Philly Steak, Wednesday -Meatloaf, Thursday- Pork Chops and Friday- Chef’s Choice. Menu selections are also available. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. – 2p.m. Monday – Thursday. The Cafe is open all day Friday and Saturday.
As for bowling, the Fall League starts next week. Open bowling is Friday 5 p.m. to close, Saturday 11 a.m. to close. Moonlight Bowling is the first Saturday of every month. All other Saturdays will be Cosmic Bowling from 7 – 10 p.m. with $10 unlimited bowling.
