The rain schedule was centered around Friday night and football as the Jays took on North West Nodaway for Homecoming. The Jays got off to a quick start with a pass from quarterback Jase Hughes to Caden Linthicum for the first of eight touchdowns on the night, before a 45 minute lighting and rain delay. Caden Linthicum scored four touchdowns, followed by Tyler Jones with 2 and Gavin Abbott and Ryan Dewhirst both had one a piece. The final score was 56-0 over the Muskets.
Defensively the Jays were strong holding the Muskets to 49 yards rushing, 76 yards passing and five first downs. Leading tacklers were Tyler Jones 8, Trenton Oswald 7 and one sack, Carter Ottmann 7, Caden Linthicum 5, with one interception and Noah Makings 4.
The Jays move to 4 – 0 on the season as they prepare for the East Atchison Wolves on Friday night. EA is 2 and 2 on the season, having lost to Southwest Livingston and South Holt/Nodaway Holt, both teams Rock Port will face later in the season. EA will be looking for their third win of the season against Rock Port. Having a few injuries earlier in the season they should be 100 percent come Friday night. Players to watch for EA will be Gage McAdams, Shae DeRosier, Jake McEnaney, and Garrett Meyer.Caden Linthicum
