At approximately 06:30 AM Saturday morning, October 01, 2016, the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a Watson resident that his pickup had been stolen. On arrival it was discovered a 2012 ¾ ton Chevrolet Silverado with an attached 16 foot black fuel/utility trailer had been removed from a residence on the east side of Watson on State Rte A. The pickup contained two black fuel tanks, a portable air compressor and tools. The trailer, which has since been recovered from rural Pottawattamie, south of Council Bluffs, contained a white 500 gallon fuel tank with pump, multiple tool boxes, a portable air compressor and numerous other items. The pickup is still missing. It was determined the theft occurred between approximately 11:00 PM Friday night and 06:30 AM Saturday morning. Discovered at the scene was a Toyota Tacoma pickup which had been reported stolen from Fremont County, Iowa approximately 10:30 PM Friday night.
The incident remains investigation by the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office and the Fremont County Iowa Sheriff’s Office.
