The Commission met on Thursday, January 5, 2017. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood; North District Commissioner Jim Quimby; South District Commissioner Richard Burke; and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed, approved and ordered paid.
Presiding Commissioner Curt Livengood attended the TAC meeting in Maryville on Tuesday evening, January 3rd. He updated the commission on the 2017 project plans.
Clerk Taylor presented the 2017 budget proposal for preliminary review.
At noon the commission went to the University Extension Office for lunch where they enjoyed a wonderful presentation from the staff reviewing their 2016 activities.

The Commission met on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood; North District Commissioner Jim Quimby; South District Commissioner Richard Burke; and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.

Bills were reviewed, approved and ordered paid.
The commission reviewed the 2017 Children’s Mercy request and agreement. South District Commissioner Richard Burke made a motion to continue with the same allocation as prior years and allocate $3,000.00 for services provided to Atchison County. The motion was seconded by North District Commissioner Jim Quimby. Presiding Commissioner Livengood called for further discussion, there being none, a roll call vote to approve the 2017 agreement was as follows: Burke – yes; Quimby – yes and Livengood – yes.
Presiding Commissioner Curt Livengood made a motion to appoint Jim Quimby to serve on the full council of the Solid Waste Committee and as a member of the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC). South District Commissioner Richard Burke seconded the motion. There being further discussion and Mr. Quimby agreeing to serve, Clerk Taylor will advise the Regional Council of the appointments.
Emergency Management Director Rhonda Wiley was in to report that she had completed the Plan of Action for sand bagging for the Atchison County Levee District. A copy has been given to Jason Garst, the commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Meyer for review and approval.
Members of the Tarkio Special Road Board were present to discuss the procedure to bring a road within their district into the CART program. The commission stated that county policy was 600 ton of rock per mile and then inspected and approved by Supervisor Meyer. The Board requested supervisor Meyer to inspect a 1 mile section on Route O. Meyer agreed to do so.
Clerk Taylor presented a few final budget questions before finalizing figures.
