Receiving personalized letters are always nice. It means that someone took the time out of their own life to let you know that you are on their mind. I can only imagine how it would feel to be serving our great nation overseas and receiving letters from loved ones you haven’t seen in a while. Could you imagine what it would be like as a soldier to open cards and letters from complete strangers?
Most of our readers can remember back in December when we put together a “Letter to Soldiers” drive to send over some heartfelt wishes and gifts to our military who were unable to be home for Christmas. Many in the community donated items and a few people sent letters or cards. On Friday, last week, we received a package in the mail from Sgt. Juhl with some personalized cards inside. Inside our card Sgt. Juhl says:
Stephanie,
Thank you, not only for your care package, but for your support of our airmen. We truly appreciate everything. It makes our job and life easier knowing we have friends like you at home!
Crissy
Even though this card may have had my name on it, this card wasn’t just for me. I didn’t do much other than get the idea to write an article in our paper. This thank you card was for our community. This card of thanks was for everyone who took the time to donate items, to send a Christmas card or to write a letter. It was everyone in the community who came together to make their Christmas away from home bearable. I want to say thank you to everyone who helped with this and only hope that we can be just as amazing this year!
