The Commission did not meet on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, due to conflicts of schedules.

The Commission met on Thursday, March 9, 2017. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood; South District Commissioner Richard Burke; and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission. North District Commissioner Jim Quimby was absent to attend a funeral.
Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed, approved and ordered paid.
Road & Bridge Supervisor Adam Meyer was in to request approval to go out for bid for a used dump truck as presented in his budget. The commission granted the approval, he will draw up specification to bid.
Clerk Taylor reported on House and Senate Bills of interest as discussed at the monthly Missouri Association of Counties Board Meeting.

The Atchison County Commission met on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood called the meeting to order.

Bills were reviewed, approved and ordered
Road and Bridge Supervisor, Adam Meyer was in to discuss department matters. He reported that the 1998 pickup with a snow blade has been moved from the Road & Bridge Department to the County for use in clearing snow at the Courthouse when needed. North District Commissioner made a motion to transfer $3,000.00 from the County General Revenue to the Road & Bridge Department as payment for the pickup. South District Commissioner Richard Burke seconded the motion. Presiding Commissioner Livengood called for further discussion, there being none, a roll call vote to purchase the truck and transfer it from Road and Bridge to County General was as follows: Quimby – yes; Burke – yes and Livengood – yes.

Presiding Commissioner Curt Livengood presented a request from the TIF Commission to reappoint Craig Livengood and Bill Smith to serve a new four year term on the TIF Commission. North District Commissioner James Quimby made a motion to appoint Craig Livengood and Bill Smith to a new four year term as requested. The motion was seconded by South District Commissioner Richard Burke. Presiding Commissioner Livengood called for further discussion, there being none a roll call vote to approve the appointment was as follows: Quimby – yes; Burke – yes; and Livengood – yes.

Prosecuting Attorney Brett Hurst discussed his new appointment as Worth County Prosecuting Attorney. The commission inquired about sharing some required expenses with Worth County to save both, Atchison and Worth County some budget dollars. Attorney Hurst explained that his duties will be split between the counties as needed since both positions are considered part-time positions.
Clerk Taylor agreed to contact the Worth County Clerk to discuss budget issues for the shared position.
