Fifty-nine Atchison County youth, representing 15 teams, competed in the Battle of the Books competition Friday, March 31, 2017, at the Tarkio Resource Center. The kids were treated to pizza before testing their knowledge on books that had received the Mark Twain award. Winners of the competition included: 1st place – Incredible Readers; 2nd place (tie) – All Four Readers and The Potters; and 3rd place (tie) – Pack of Readers and Anonymous.
