The American Red Cross Lifeguard training course will be offered in the Mound City area beginning on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. This course is open to all experienced swimmers who are at least 15 years old and who would like to lifeguard in a pool environment.
New lifeguards, and those who received their lifeguarding certification in 2015 will need to take the complete Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid courses. The new course will be held in the basement of the Christian Fellowship Church, North Hwy. 59, Mound City, MO and the Mound City Municipal Pool. The CPR/First Aid portion of the course will be at the church from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30 and Wednesday, May 31. Current lifeguards who need to renew MUST come and bring their masks and books on Tuesday at 10 am to demonstrate their CPR skills. The required pool sessions will be held at the Mound City Municipal Pool. These sessions will be determined by the weather and could continue into the following week until completed. To pass the course, candidates must attend every session. The cost of the course for new lifeguards will include books, CPR masks, lifeguard fanny packs and pool fees.
