The car was taken to the Atchison County barn for further investigation.
Five Rock Port teenagers were injured Friday, May 26, 2017, in a one-vehicle accident near Rock Port, Missouri.
Abby D. Bradley, 15, and Brooklyn Jakub, 15, were pinned by the wreck. They were and extricated by Rock Port Fire. Both girls suffered serious injuries and were taken by LifeFlight to University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Ashley Cue, 16, and Drue Kemerling, 15, suffered moderate injuries and were transported to Community Hospital-Fairfax by Atchison-Holt Ambulance. Vehicle driver Ashley M. Christian suffered minor injuries and was transported to Community Hospital-Fairfax by private vehicle. Miss Christian was the only person wearing a safety device.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2002 Ford Taurus, driven by Ashley M. Christian, 16, was southbound on Rt. Y, seven miles northeast of Rock Port, at 9:00 p.m. The vehicle skidded off the west side of the roadway and continued southbound through a field. The car struck several trees and overturned into a muddy ditch.
The car was totally damaged in the accident and towed from the scene by Benefiel.
