This year’s Atchison County Robotics Camp will be held in the new headquarters located at Heartland Recreation Center in Tarkio. Camp is open to students entering 5th through 8th grades in our area. The group will be building robots and programming them to perform competitive tasks. Each student will have their own computer to use to program a robot. This camp does not have a fee. Each camper is to bring their own lunch and drink. If transportation is an issue, mentors may be able to provide travel. We do not want a child to miss this opportunity. The purpose of the camp is to introduce the campers to the challenges and fun of working with robots using STEM ( science, technology, engineering, and math) practices. Upon completion of the camp, the students may decide if they want to join the club and participate in the coming year’s events. Sponsors for the club are Rock Port Telephone, Midwest Data, Atchison County Economic Development Corporation, Missouri Valley Ag, Karen Brown, and Roger Livengood and Associates. Contact Dale Dickkut at 660-744-4646 to enroll. The website for First Lego League is https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/fll.
