The Methodist Churches of Westboro and Tarkio, Missouri, recognized local heroes who serve our citizens and communities on Sunday, September 10, 2017. Those who were recognized included: Atchison County EMS (Barb Lee represented them), Tarkio Fire Department (Mike Shaw and Keaton Shaw represented them), the Tarkio Police Department, the Westboro Volunteer Fire Department (representatives were Jim Morrison, Jim Quimby, Justin Riggins, Mark and Shaun Manchester, Shane McNaughton, Jason Leseberg, and Sandy Matt (First Responder). They made special mention of Jim Morrison, the only remaining member of the original firefighters who started the Westboro Fire Department in 1949.
