The Northwest Missouri Solid Waste Management District has announced the opening of a permanent Household Hazardous Waste Collection Site in Nodaway County. The collection site is located at the Nodaway County Maintenance Barn, 1516 E. Halsey Street, Maryville, Mo., and is operated by Nodaway County in coordination with the Regional Council of Governments and the Solid Waste Management District.
This operation will replace the single day collections sponsored by the District in the past. The Regional Council is part of a joint contract with three other regions to have the collected waste picked up from the site by Clean Harbors, a licensed vendor for HHW transport and disposal.
The new site serves the residents of the five counties of the Solid Waste Management District. Residents of Atchison, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth Counties (ID required) are welcome to participate. There is no fee to drop-off; it is free for residents only.
The collection site will be open to accept household hazardous waste on October 7, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Call Linda Laderoute at 660-582-5121 for more information.
