The ACSO responded to a call at Stoner Drug on Thursday, October 12, 2017, where a male suspect was distraught and threatening to harm himself with a knife.  Deputy Rick Sons and Dr. Aron Burke were able to talk him into handing over the knife.  He was then sedated and transported by Atchison-Holt Ambulance District to the St. Francis Mental Health Facility in Maryville, Mo., where he had been released the day before.  The name of the man is being withheld in an effort to help not antagonize his current medical/mental state.
