The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, November 9, 2017. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner James Quimby, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Curt Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed, approved and ordered paid.
Clerk Taylor presented the 2017/2018 Financial Assurance Instrument (FAI) for Atchison County Sanitary Landfill, Permit #0100501, Atchison County Contract of Obligation. This contract is required as part of the post-closure of the solid waste disposal area. The landfill was officially closed in 1996 and is required to continue post-closure maintenance and report for 30 years. The Financial Assurance Instrument was reviewed and signed by Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood.
Atchison County Maintenance Supervisor Greg Beck and Bryan Holtmeyer with ACU Air Conditioning Utilities, Inc. met with the commission to discuss heating and cooling upgrades to the courthouse. Mr. Holtmeyer agreed to put together bid specifications that could be used if the commission so desires.
Tom Salisbury, Small Business Liaison with Senator Roy Blunt’s office was in to discuss concerns of Atchison County.
There being no further business to come before the commission, the commission adjourned.
The Commission met Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner James Quimby, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.

Clerk Taylor presented the renewal for the 2018 Property and Liability coverage through Missouri Rural Services with Oswald Crow Agency. South District Commissioner Richard Burke made a motion to approve the renewal as presented. Motion was seconded by North District Commissioner James Quimby. Presiding Commissioner Livengood called for discussion. There being none, a roll call vote to approve the policy was as follows: Burke – yes; Quimby – yes and Livengood – yes.
The commissioners and Clerk Taylor began preliminary budget review and discussed projects for 2018.
There being no further business to come before the commission, the commission adjourned.
