Raymond Henry Tiemeyer died November 16, 2017.  He was born September 23, 1926, near Rock Port, MO, to Norma (Roje) and Emil Tiemeyer.
Ray was a Lutheran pastor. In his early ministry he had been the Administrative Assistant to Franklin Clark Fry, President of the United Lutheran Church, and Chairman of the World Council of Churches.  In that office he had also been the director of Lutheran World Action, the relief and development fund of Lutheran churches.  He had spent the major part of his career as an editor for Fortress Press and its subsidiaries in Philadelphia, PA.  His primary editorial work there was in educational books for adults on social and theological issues.  He and his spouse had also served churches in Tipton and Sioux City, IA, Los Alamos, NM, and Denver, CO.
Over the last 15 years he enjoyed living at “The Landing” where he spent many hours in their wood shop.
He is survived by his wife Alma (Ohrt), married in 1950; son David (Carol Beidleman) Santa Fe, NM; daughter Patricia (Loi) Vo of Lincoln, NE; son Daniel of Greeley, CO; and granddaughter Christie (Doug) VanAndel of Lincoln, NE.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Arnold.
