Two St. Louis, Missouri, residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident along Interstate 29 in Atchison County Tuesday night, December 26, 2017. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Darvon Wright, 45, was headed north on I-29, about two miles north of Watson, Missouri, around 8:10 p.m. when he lost control of his 2005 Mazda 3. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and into the snow-covered median. The vehicle overturned several times and came to rest on its wheels facing southeast.
Wright and his passenger, Arneatha Wright, 46, also of St. Louis, were taken by Atchison-Holt ambulance to George C. Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, Iowa. Darvon’s injuries were described as moderate and Arneatha’s were considered serious. Both were wearing their seat belts.
The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper K.L. Ebersold, who was assisted by Cpl. M. R. Heits, the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department, Atchison-Holt Ambulance Service, and Atchison County firemen and first responders.
