Weather-wise persons who predicted twenty-one snows for the winter of 1942-1943 when the first snowfall arrived on November 21 have attained their goal with the snow of last Friday. Now, with only a short period of real winter remaining, it will be all right with the populace if Old Man Winter forgets about any more snows and “lays off” long enough for farmers to get started with their spring operations.

The bids were let for the new education building for the Christian Church. Burke and Sons Lumber Co., Inc. submitted the low bid of $22,695 for the building. The other two bids were around $28,000. The building will be connected to the east of the present 1,964 square feet. It will consist of seven classrooms and a study and be constructed of haydite block and be centrally air conditioned.

All-Conference players were chosen by conference coaches on Tuesday, March 2. Four players from Rock Port were chosen. Jill Meyerkorth and Mandy Runkles were unanimous for the girls. Tad Gebhards and Cory Scamman were chosen for the All-Conference boys’ team.
Andrea Davis and Tessa Miller traveled to Maryville along with their conductor, Miss Michelle Hatcher. These two girls participated in the Junior High Music Contest on Saturday, February 27. They received a two plus rating with their trumpet duet.
