of Facilities
The representatives from CTS provided information for the necessary updates. The CTS team provided the results of the feasibility study and their recommendations for improvements to the 45,000 sq. ft. Heartland Rec facility.
Discussion was held. Upon approval from the district’s attorney, the RFQ/RFP will be published in the local newspaper through March 26, 2018. The final decision and vote will take place at the April 11 board meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:18 p.m. The next board meeting will be held March 15 at 7 p.m. at Tarkio High School.
Editor’s Notes: Total cost estimate for the Heartland Recreation Center project is around $3 million. To build a new building today (with all this one includes) would cost roughly $9 million. To build a new gym by itself (24,000 sq. ft.) would be roughly $4.5 million. Heartland Rec’s utility bills this past month were around $8,000. After renovations are made to the building, the utility bill would be around $3,250 per month.
