Tarkio FCCLA members Novalee Yeary and Taylor Stanton were installed as regional officers in Savannah, Missouri, on March 7, 2018. They will represent Tarkio and Region 1 as the Vice President of Devotions and Historian respectively. Their duties will be to help plan for regional meetings, create a scrapbook of regional events, and opening all meetings with a word of inspiration.

Students from Tarkio High School attended the annual Missouri Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Leadership Conference March 11-13, 2018, at Tan-Tar-A Resort, Osage Beach. There were more than 1,600 students (grades 6-12) and their teachers in attendance.
The following Tarkio FCCLA members attended the conference: Hannah Blank, Jordyn Hogue, Taylor Stanton, Novalee Yeary, Skye Clark, and Austin Anderson. Local chapter adviser Dara Wennihan also attended.
This year’s student-developed conference theme was “Unmask Your Leadership Powers.” The conference featured speakers and workshops on topics such as preparing for college and careers, leadership skills, and traffic safety. In addition to leadership training, honors and recognition, more than 640 students participated in 30 competitive events, including early childhood education, entrepreneurship, culinary arts, fashion design, career investigation, chapter service learning projects and sports nutrition.
Tarkio’s STAR event award recipients included: Hannah Blank, participating in teach in train received a gold; Jordyn Hogue, participating in interior design received a gold and will be attending National FCCLA STAR events in Atlanta, Georgia, this summer; Taylor Stanton, participating in national programs in action and received a silver; Skye Clark, participated in illustrated talk receiving a gold; and Austin Anderson received a bronze in sports and nutrition.
