Alan Wessler of Columbia, Missouri, was named an Honorary State FFA Degree recipient at the 90th Missouri FFA Convention.
Wessler is vice president of feed operations and animal health at MFA Inc. He is chairman of Missouri Farmers Care board of directors, and he serves on the board of directors for Missouri Agricultural Foundation and Missouri’s Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow. He previously served as chairman of the American Feed Industry Association’s board of directors.
Wessler is a member of the American and Missouri Veterinary Medical associations, Academy of Veterinary Consultants, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Missouri Cattlemen’s Association and the Missouri Pork Association.
Prior to joining MFA Inc., Wessler operated a veterinary practice for 11 years in Aurora, Missouri. He studied animal husbandry at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and earned a doctorate in veterinary medicine. He was raised on his family’s grain and livestock farm in northwest Missouri, and is still actively involved as a shareholder and owner. Wessler is the son of Pat Wessler of Tarkio.
