On June 11, 2018, the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Unit 199 met at the Legion building at 5:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order by President Linda Payton and an opening prayer was given by Chaplain Judy Fuelling. The Pledge of Allegiance and then the Preamble were recited by all members. Roll call was answered by 11 members. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Secretary Barb Hines and approved following correction/addition. The Treasurer’s report was given by Treasurer Sheridan Mires.
National Convention delegates were discussed with Sheridan Mires going to this year’s program. Report on membership was given with total of 52 members.
A brief report was given on the District 4 meeting held June 2 in Oregon.  Three members attended.
The Memorial Day luncheon served 37 Legion and ALA participants.
On August 13, 2018, Unit 199 will be hosting the installation of area unit officers for the upcoming year.  We will be providing a meal with food contributions from those units attending. The meal will start at 5:30 p.m. Set up will be Saturday, August 12, at 4:00 p.m.
A discussion on dates of the fall rummage sale, building cleanup, and turkey dinner was discussed. This was tabled for another meeting.
A discussion was held regarding what we need to make our kitchen/serving the turkey dinner easier and better, and how we could apply the memorial money to this cause.
Election of officers for the upcoming year was held: President – Linda K. Payton; 1st Vice President – Barb Hines; 2nd Vice President – KC Hines; Recording Secretary – Barb Hines; Secretary/Treasurer – Sheridan Mires; Historian – Donna Payne; Chaplain – Judy Fuel­ling;  and Sgt. At Arms – Hazel Kemerling.
When a unit is deprived of one of its members by death, it is customary to drape the unit charter with black crepe/lace. Our unit remembered Rosie Woodring and Mary Flesher as our charter was draped. All members quietly adjourned. The next meeting will be August 13, 2018, at 5:30 p.m.
