Steven Kitchen M.D., orthopedic surgeon is a new addition to CH-F.

Community Hospital-Fairfax recently announced the expansion of orthopedic services in Northwest Missouri with the addition of Steven Kitchen M.D., orthopedic surgeon, to the Community Hospital-Fairfax team. With the addition of Dr. Kitchen and the orthopedic clinic of Bryan Bredthauer M.D., access to orthopedic services will double for area residents with weekly appointments available. Dr. Kitchen also has plans to perform a wide variety of orthopedic procedures, including joint replacements, at Community Hospital-Fairfax.

“We look forward to expanding this service close to home. Orthopedic procedures for our patients have largely been performed in surrounding metropolitan areas. While we continue to be pleased with our working relationships with facilities in larger communities, we will soon be able to offer our patients the option of orthopedic procedures right here in their local community,” explained Aron Burke, M.D., Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Kitchen received his Bachelor of Arts at Harvard University and earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. He completed his residency at the Orthopedic Surgery Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, followed by a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Ohio State University and Riverside Hospital. Dr. Kitchen is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has experience in general surgery and sports injuries for all ages.

“I am looking forward to joining the team at Community Hospital-Fairfax. Serving residents in a rural area has always been a passion of mine. Bringing additional services to the area will be especially gratifying. I look forward to getting to know my patients and the community,” commented Dr. Kitchen.

Dr. Kitchen’s first clinic was held July 23, 2018. Surgery and clinic will continue the second and fourth Monday and Tuesday of each month. Dr. Bredthauer will continue to see patients on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
