Karl Forehand is not only giving blood but also platelets at the CBC drive on August 6.
Sue Daugherty pumps up before her donation begins.
The Community Blood Center (CBC) issued an emergency need for blood as the Helping Hands for Jesus women’s group was busy making appointments for lifesaving blood donations. The drive was held at the Rock Port United Methodist Church on Monday, August 6, from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m.
There were 47 donors registered to give with 37 units actually donated. All donors received a t-shirt for donating blood.
As summer comes to an end the need for donors does not. Past and new blood donors are needed every time there is a drive. If you have never donated blood before please make the choice to do so at the next opportunity.
