The Brownville Concert Series will present Matt Baker and the Trio in “Autumn in New York.” Featuring some of the great music synonymous with the Big Apple such as Gershwin and Bernstein, Matt Baker brings a slice of New York to Brownville in this intimate trio concert. The group will also present music from Baker’s new album ‘Almost Blue’ – a “fully realized love letter to the place he longed to be a part of, a place he now calls home,” each song emanating a part of the album’s haunting narrative. Hard swinging piano and warm vocals are presented in a program of classic jazz with an exciting contemporary edge.
They will perform in cabaret Friday and Saturday, October 5 and 6, at 7:30 p.m. and in concert Sunday, October 7, at 2:00 p.m. Sponsors are Frontier Bank of Falls City, Dr. Charles and Carole James in memory of Ruth James, and Lee Sapp.
