Wright Farms has purchased the Fairfax grain elevator site to use for their white corn storage.
Josh and Haley Wright with Wright Farms recently purchased and refurbished the Fairfax elevator site for their personal use in storing grain. The site, located on the west side of town, had been owned by Cooper Farms when it was seriously damaged from straight line winds a few years back.
The Wrights are going to be using the elevator for only white corn. This elevator allows them to bring in corn and haul out corn in difficult weather. It’s important to be able to deliver white corn during bad weather conditions because it is a buyer’s call market.
The Wright family has been farming in the Fairfax community since 1880 and Josh says he feels blessed to be able to continue this family tradition.
