Kelcie Gaines was voted as a unanimous selection to the Class 1 All-State Volleyball Team. This honor is given by all the coaches in the District. Gaines was chosen based on her leadership, stats and intensity on the court. With the backing of several district coaches, Kelcie was nominated by Coach Herron to be considered for All-State. One other item examined was whether the athlete is planning to play or being recruited to play collegiate volleyball. Though not required, it is a way to distinguish one from other players. Gaines plans to play collegiate volleyball at an institution to be named later.

Kelcie’s stats and a write up were taken to the Missouri Volleyball Coaches Association’s All-State meeting, held in Columbia Missouri. There, her information was presented and voted on by all attending coaches where she was selected among several candidates to be All-State. All recipients are invited to participate in an All-State game in December.
