The Community Hospital Auxiliary met July 18 at Community Hospital-Fairfax with 23 members and three guests present. The meeting followed an appreciation luncheon provided by Robin Salfrank and Community Hospital. The room and tables were decorated in the Hawaiian theme and the meal prepared by the hospital dietary department was excellent! Robin presented the Year in Review Slide Show and announced our Auxilian of the Year. Congratulations to Sarah VanMeter.

Julie Jones, CEO, gave us some informative updates on the new and exciting changes in the hospital’s growth. Ashley Mayall, RRT, gave an informative program on COPD and Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

The meeting opened with members reciting the Auxiliary Prayer. The minutes from the June meeting, and the treasurer’s report, along with the Auxiliary Annual Report, were given. There was a correction to the minutes and then all reports were approved.

Wine Fest will be September 21, 2019, in Mound City, Missouri. The auxiliary will have a booth and will need some new volunteers this year. Members were asked to let Marilyn Alldredge know if they could help.

The Quilt Committee reported that our quilt is finished and is now on display at the gift shop. Members voted to sell tickets now and at the Fairfax Fair as usual, but continue selling them until December 20.

The Scholarship Committee reported that we received seven applications. Sidney Stoner, Kelsey Sly, and Emily Wedlock will each receive a $400 scholarship.

Robin reported the work on the Healing Garden has begun. Our group has donated $10,000 to go towards the garden.

The voting and installation of the offices of secretary and treasurer were held. Jan will continue as secretary and Ann as treasurer.

There will be no meeting in August. The next meeting will be September 19 at 1:30 p.m. in the Hospital Conference Room. Anyone thinking they might like to join our group is welcome to attend. Refreshments and crafts followed the meeting.
