This Saturday, the 24th of August, Watson will be celebrating 150 years since the founding year. Come help us celebrate! A horseshoe pitching tournament will begin at 8:00 a.m. in the park. There will be a quilt show by the Watson Quilters from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A bounce house will arrive at 4:00 p.m., then a potluck picnic at 5:00 p.m. with games to follow. Everything is free.
The Watson Firemen’s fish fry was a huge success. There were around 150 people who attended. Thanks to all of you who came out. Thanks to those firemen who worked so hard to make it a success, and thanks to all the others who helped. The leftover food was donated to the Atchison County jail.
The Watson Quilters met Thursday night with Frances Nahkunst, Pat Aspedon, Anita Armstrong, and Donna Whelan. Anna Beth Wennihan, Kay Gibson, and Holly Holmes were there briefly. Our quilters are having a quilt show this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Watson Community Building. Come see what these ladies can do!
