The annual MU Extension Farm Financial Outlook Meetings will be held Wednesday, December 11, in Maryville and St. Joseph. This seminar will focus on key issues of ag lending and ag business decision making. Commodity prices, government policies, and the changing structure of agriculture, environment, and international trade all influence success in farming.

The St. Joseph program will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Missouri Western State University. The Maryville program will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Nodaway County Administration Building.

Scott Brown, Agricultural Economist from the University of Missouri, will discuss livestock and commodity outlook and emerging issues. Joe Horner, MU Extension State Specialist, will discuss alternative ag and industrial hemp as a new crop commodity available to producers. There will also be a discussion on farmland values and rental rates.
