Janis Beverly (Mackey) Irvine was born to John A. and Mattie E. (Owen) Mackey at home in Hamburg, Iowa, on January 12, 1928. She checked in to Heaven on December 1, 2019. She was the youngest of six children. Janis was the first of her family to graduate from high school. She married Robert E. Irvine on August 25, 1947. Janis worked alongside Bob as they farmed all of their married life. Janis was a Deacon and taught Sunday School at the Presbyterian Church in Fairfax, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; and her siblings, Owen Mackey, Ruby Graves, Lloyd Mackey, Allie Brown, and Jim Mackey. She is survived by sons, Bob (Nancy) Irvine of Omaha, Nebraska, Mike (Kathy) Irvine of Fort Worth, Texas, and Steve (Kitty) Irvine of Rock Port. Janis was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Her home and her heart were always opened to everyone. She always fixed Sunday dinner for anyone who could come and continued that tradition until she entered the nursing home. In 2015, Janis was proud to place in the finals of the Ms. Missouri Nursing Home Pageant held in Branson, Missouri. She loved to watch sports, in particular the Royals and Chiefs. Janis was a friend to all; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Graveside services for Janis Beverly (Mackey) Irvine will be held Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fairfax. The family will receive friends starting at 12:00 p.m. at the Fairfax Firehouse.
