The East Atchison and Rock Port High School Wrestling Teams competed in the Class 1, Section 4 Tournament held this past weekend. The local athletes faced off with competitors from Albany, Brookfield, Gallatin, Macon, Marceline, Maysville, Mid-Buchanan, North Andrew, Penney, South Harrison, Stanberry, and Trent-on.

Rock Port’s Colten Stevens was the only wrestler to advance to the Missouri State High School Athletic Association’s State Tournament. Due to COVID-19, the state tournament has been limited to fewer wrestlers than allowed in the past. Because of this change,  East Atchison wrestler Aaron Schlueter, who would have normally qualified with his Sectional fourth place finish, did not advance.
