Tarkio College d/b/a Tarkio Tech has selected their yard sign recipients for the spring semester. The program is designed to recognize businesses and individuals who have been instrumental in the re-birth of the college’s campus through the newly created career and technical school.

The business award for the spring semester recognizes two businesses, Jones Law Office and Chef Paul Presents. Beverly Jones has served as legal counsel for Tarkio College for the past two years while actively supporting the school’s efforts through her time, talent and finances. Paul Seaman, the founder of Chef Paul Presents, has served as chair of the grand re-opening weekend food committee and provided catering service for the event’s reception. Paul, too, has given of his time, talents and finances and along with his wife, Beverly, are both Ayurvedic consultants, and have provided continuing education classes in Ayurvedic science.

The recipients of the individual spring semester awards are Doris Ann Stanton and Bill and Susan Slaughter. Doris Ann has been a faithful giver to the college over the years. In addition, she has given the college permission to name the newly created welding center after her first husband, the late Dr. Jack Schmidt. Bill and Susan have likewise been faithful givers to the college for years. Bill serves on the Tarkio College Board of Directors and anytime there is work to be done on campus, Bill will be the first one to show up and the last one to leave.

The efforts of these individuals, and many more like them, have led to the successful re-opening of the Tarkio College campus.
