A state truck from the Lewis & Clark fish hatchery drove into Rock Port Thursday of last week with a large consignment of fingerling sunfish and bluegills, which were placed in the Nishna River at Langdon. There were 20,000 each of the two species of fish. As they grow to mature size they will provide some excellent fishing for local sportsman.
A deal was closed Tuesday in which Henry F. Stapel sold the Hillcrest Apartments near the courthouse (the former Dopf property) to Mrs. Pearl Clark, mother of Mrs. Herbert Rolf. The purchaser took immediate possession. The seller and his family will continue their residence there for the present.

A 155 acre farm located at the edge of Phelps City has been sold by Mr. and Mrs. John Graf, Rock Port, to Marvin W. Jenkins, Dawn, for $450 per acre.
Rock Port’s grade and high school students will close this year’s school term with their last day of classes on Saturday, May 24. The R-2 school board met Tuesday and decided that school would be held the last two Saturdays in the year to make up for time lost during the winter because of ice and snow. School will be held Saturday, May 17 and Saturday, May 24. School will begin next fall on Monday, August 25.

Six of the Rock Port basketball players attended the KTRX Dream Team Banquet Wednesday, March 30. Attending were Mandy Runkles, Jill Meyerkorth. Patti Gubser, Cory Scamman, Phil Eilers and Tad Gebhards. It was a great honor for Rock Port to have six players there. The biggest honors of the night were the announcements of the Players and Coaches of the Year Awards. The Girls Player of the Year went to Mandy Runkles and the Girls Coach of the Year went to Kim Scamman.
The Rock Port golf team traveled to Liberty, Missouri, to participate in the William Jewell Tournament on Monday, April 4. Thirteen teams participated in this tournament. Rock Port placed 5th with a score of 364. Cory Scamman was low scorer for Rock Port and placed 10th individually with a score of 85. Other scorers for Rock Port were Tad Gebhards 91, Jase Runkles 93, Michael Phelps 95, and Garrett Schomburg 102.
