The TEC Club met Tuesday, April 9, at Aunt Martha’s Bed and Breakfast in Fairfax, Missouri. Only one member was missing. Sharon Smith helped us out. Deb Johnson won high, Pam Cooper won second high and Merylan Lowrey had low score. On one round the final score was 3-2. It’s rather difficult to score that low, but with reckless bidding, it can happen.

Martha Shaffer was hostess and served cheesecake with a choice of chocolate or butterscotch syrup topping. The challenge was to make a design with the syrup. I did not see any Rembrandts.

The discussions were mostly serious centering on how the flood was affecting the school systems around the county. School boards are facing unusual challenges this year and different ideas and options were discussed. We found that we were lacking any concrete knowledge of what is being planned. With cell phones, we explored the proposal that was on the ballot last week. No one knew the outcome of the vote.

The other entertainment was hearing about a cruise on the Mississippi River. It was a gorgeous spring day and we were encouraged by the huge semi loads of rock passing by at regular intervals, hopefully headed to repair flood damaged roads and rails.
