SUMMARY:Fairfax Farmers Market to begin in May
DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE THE MONTH CHANGE: \nThe first Fairfax Farmer’s Market of 2026 will be held in May\, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Main Street. Vendors are welcome to stay until 1:00 p.m. to catch the lunch crowd. There is no fee to set up a stand\, but you must supply your own canopy\, tables\, and chairs. There will be weekly regular vendors as well as other featured sellers who will make an occasional appearance. \nThe Atchison County Library will also have two carts overflowing with books (25¢ each)\, audiobooks (25¢ each)\, movies ($1)\, and magazines  (free) available from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Whether you’re a reader who loves romance\, western\, nonfiction\, mystery\, or more – the library has you covered! There will be table books and antique books for decorating or crafts\, magazines with recipes or great pictures for projects. \nStay tuned for more information once we get closer to May.

DESCRIPTION:The Nodaway County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection site will be open Saturday\, March 14\, 2026\, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The HHW collection site is located at the Nodaway County Maintenance Barn\, 1516 East Halsey Street\, Maryville\, Missouri. \nBrochures are available online at www.nwmorcog.org. Residents of Atchison\, Gentry\, Holt\, Nodaway\, and Worth counties are welcome to participate (ID required). There is no fee to drop off. It is free for residents only. No commercial or business waste can be accepted. \nExamples of HHW include: household chemicals (bleach\, ammonia\, and cleaners) fertilizers\, pesticides\, brake fluid\, transmission fluid\, household waxes\, Ni-cad\, lithium\, and lead acid batteries\, compact fluorescent light bulbs\, fluorescent tubes\, antifreeze\, oil base paint\, and varnish. No latex paint accepted. Latex paint can be dried and put into the trash. Directions provided upon request. \nKeep materials in the original container.
