Vendors are welcome to stay until 1:00 p.m. to catch the lunch crowd. There is no fee to set up a stand\, but you must supply your own canopy\, tables\, and chairs. There will be weekly regular vendors as well as other featured sellers who will make an occasional appearance. \nThe Atchison County Library will also have two carts overflowing with books (25¢ each)\, audiobooks (25¢ each)\, movies ($1)\, and magazines  (free) available from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Whether you’re a reader who loves romance\, western\, nonfiction\, mystery\, or more – the library has you covered! There will be table books and antique books for decorating or crafts\, magazines with recipes or great pictures for projects. \nStay tuned for more information once we get closer to May.

DESCRIPTION:University of Missouri (MU) Extension is offering a healthy cooking class for individuals with diabetes. This free\, virtual class called Dining with Diabetes will show participants how to make meals that are healthy\, easy to prepare\, and tasty. Recipes will be demonstrated. \nParticipants will also learn up-to-date information on nutrition\, meal planning\, and exercise and how to understand common diabetes-related medical tests. Recipes and a workbook will be provided for each participant. \nThe Dining with Diabetes course meets four consecutive weeks on Mondays\, March 16\, March 23\, March 30\, and April 6\, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Tickets will also be sold for a chance to win a quilt\, donated by the Watson Quilters. \nProceeds will go to Dawn Brown of Rock Port. Dawn suffered an acute ischemic stroke\, caused by a blood clot blocking a main artery to her brain\, in January. Doctors performed a thrombectomy to remove the clot. She later had a second surgery to relieve pressure on her brain by removing part of her skull and draining fluid. The stroke has affected her left side\, balance\, speech\, senses\, and short-term memory. Dawn is recovering and has begun physical therapy.
