DESCRIPTION:Members of the Heartland Riders Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association will be participating in the annual Run for the Son motorcycle ride on Saturday\, May 3\, 2025. \nRun for the Son is a fundraiser supporting evangelistic efforts in the United States and around the world. Of the monies collected: \n• 20% is given to Missionary Ventures International which provides transportation for pastors in developing nations to use in reaching people with the Gospel. \n• 20% is given to The Jesus Film Project for translating and sending the Jesus Film to people groups so they can hear the Gospel in their own language. \n• 20% is given to Global Christian Relief for sending Bibles and Christian materials into countries closed to the Gospel. \n• 40% stays with CMA for spreading the Gospel in the United States. \nIf you would like to participate in the ride or make a donation\, please contact Annette Kaplan at 703-774-4763. DESCRIPTION:The deck replacement project on the Mill Creek Bridge on Holt County Route T has been delayed due to contractor scheduling. The project was scheduled to begin on Monday\, April 7\, but has been delayed until Tuesday\, May 27. \nThe Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted Emery Sapp & Sons\, Inc. to replace the decks of two bridges in Holt County and one in Atchison County. \nDuring construction\, Route T will be closed at the Mill Creek Bridge. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route. The Mill Creek Bridge is expected to reopen by mid-July 2025. \nOnce construction is complete\, crews will begin work on the U.S. Route 59 bridge over Interstate 29 in Holt County then the Rock Creek Bridge on Atchison County Route F. SUMMARY:Tai Chi classes for arthritis and fall prevention
DESCRIPTION:The University of Missouri Extension will hold 16 class sessions on Tai Chi for arthritis and fall prevention. Attendees will learn a series of gentle\, pain-free movements to improve balance\, strength\, flexibility\, and stamina. The class sessions will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays\, April 1 to May 21\, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Tarkio Tech\, 404 N. 13th St.\, Tarkio. The cost is $20 (a facility fee for Tarkio Tech).
