DESCRIPTION:The communities of Fairfax\, Rock Port\, and Tarkio will hold their final town hall meeting Monday\, April 28\, 2025\, at 6:00 p.m. at the Velma Houts Building\, 201 E. Hwy. US 136 in Rock Port\, Missouri. \nThe meeting will be held to update residents about the regional wastewater feasibility study the communities are participating in. Representatives from Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments and engineers from Lamp Rynearson will be on hand to discuss the regional draft study that is approximately 90% complete. \nThe study is being funded through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. DESCRIPTION:Fairfax community’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday\, April 19\, at 1:00 p.m. in the Fairfax city park. If there is inclement weather\, it will be held in the Fairfax R-3 School. The age groups will be 0-2 years\, 3-5 years\, 6-8 years\, and 9-12 years. Bring your kiddos for an “egg”cellent time in the park! \nCandy\, prizes\, and monetary donations are needed. Donations may also be dropped off at the Fairfax Library during business hours. Monetary donations may be deposited at the Farmers State Bank in Fairfax where an Easter account under Amanda’s name has been set up. SUMMARY:Three bridges in Holt\, Atchison counties scheduled for deck replacements
DESCRIPTION:The deck replacement project on the Mill Creek Bridge on Holt County Route T has been delayed due to contractor scheduling. The project was scheduled to begin on Monday\, April 7\, but has been delayed until Tuesday\, May 27. \nThe Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted Emery Sapp & Sons\, Inc. to replace the decks of two bridges in Holt County and one in Atchison County. \nDuring construction\, Route T will be closed at the Mill Creek Bridge. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route. The Mill Creek Bridge is expected to reopen by mid-July 2025. \nOnce construction is complete\, crews will begin work on the U.S. Route 59 bridge over Interstate 29 in Holt County then the Rock Creek Bridge on Atchison County Route F.
