DESCRIPTION:It’ll be a busy\, fun-filled night in Tarkio Friday\, January 23\, with the East Atchison basketball teams taking on Osborn/Stewartsville in homecoming action\, the annual parachute routine\, and crowning of the homecoming kings and queens. \nBut also on that night’s “menu” of activities is the CTA chili supper. Stop by the Tarkio Elementary cafeteria from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for a delicious bowl of chili along with homemade cinnamon rolls made by Karla Chambers\, Sasha Bruce\, Paige Agnew\, and other favorite local bakers. Food is $10 for adults\, $5 for students\, and children 4 and under eat for free. The first 200 people are guaranteed a meal\, so don’t miss out! Funds raised from the event will go toward scholarships for students.

DESCRIPTION:Rock Port High School will be celebrating its Winter Homecoming 2026 with a theme of “Winter Wonderland.” The students will participate in a number of activities this week\, ending with the homecoming basketball games and crowning of the homecoming royalty on Friday\, January 30. \nA pep assembly will take place Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the school. Basketball games against Hamburg\, Iowa\, will begin at 5:00 p.m. New Horizons will be providing concessions. The Rock Port elementary girls will be dancing at halftime of the varsity girls’ game and the Rock Port High School dancers will perform at halftime of the varsity boys’ game. Crowning of the Winter Homecoming King and Queen will take place after the games.
