The Tarkio Parks and Recreation Department is calling all forms of transportation, cars, trucks, golf carts, vans, buses, motorcycles, bicycles, heavy machinery, tractors, antique vehicles, RVs, horses, horse drawn sleighs and buggies, and more, to participate in a lighted Christmas Parade in December!
The parade will take place at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, on Main Street in Tarkio. The department is hoping to get a wide variety of vehicle entries, all uniquely decorated with Christmas decor and Christmas lights! Special parade guests will include Santa and Mrs. Claus (who will be sitting in front of the Christmas Tree at City Hall after the parade so that all the kiddos can stop by and visit), The Grinch, and Buddy The Elf. The Grinch and Buddy the Elf will be running along the parade route and anyone wishing to get their picture taken with them are allowed to do so. Tarkio’s first Mr. and Mrs. Christmas will also be riding in the parade.
Parade line-up will take place between 4 and 4:30 p.m. at the corner of 9th Street and Main (look for Ashlee Driskell). People who plan on watching the parade are asked to please NOT park on Main Street, leaving those spaces for the handicap, elderly, and those who can not handle standing out in the cold. For questions, contact Paige Agnew, Jennifer Peregrine, Ashlee Driskell, or Summer Reeves.
