
Thelma “T.J.” (Stevens) Miles was born April 11, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to Sheldon and Zelma (Simon) Stevens. Her family moved to the area of Ramsey, Indiana, at the age of two. T.J. graduated in 1957 from North Central High School and attended Indiana Central College in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1959, she met Melvin on a blind date while he served in the Army at Fort Knox. They married in December of 1959, moved to Missouri in January of 1960, and reside today in the same farm home.
T.J. is a loving farm wife, mom, Mema, family member and friend. She is an important hand of the Miles Farm and has served in the Fairfax Baptist Church faithfully in many ways. They are parents of Lori (Gregg) Smith and Susan (Tim) Mattson; grandparents of Miles (Amber) Smith, Leslie (Joey) Kankovsky, Nic Mattson, and Tate Mattson; and great-grandparents of Zailynn Cook, Harper Smith, and Cameron Kankovsky.
