On a cool homecoming morning, a record number of runners participated in the Nebraska’s Toughest Mile in Peru, Nebraska. The race, coordinated by the Peru State Bobcat women’s cross country team and Coach Katy Billings, saw the individuals navigate the three tough hills in the city.
Tanner Fischer, a Peru State sophomore, claimed his second Toughest Mile title by completing the race in 6:04. The top female runner was Sarah Murray of Tarkio, a former member of the Bobcat cross country team, who ran the course in a time of 6:46.
