False alarm on siren near Rock Port

An issue with a siren caused it to sound off at approximately 8:00 a.m. Thursday, January 13, near Rock Port, Missouri, just east of Cooper Nuclear Station.  According to Nebraska Public Power District officials, this was a false activation of the siren believed to be caused by an internal malfunction in that specific siren. This snowman towers over Corey and Whitney Martin of Tarkio. Their creation is about 10-12 feet tall. A tractor and bucket were used to put the head in place.
