Jayson Grayson 42, of Elliott, Iowa and Johnnie Fields 47, of Shenandoah, Iowa were the two men that fell into the Missouri River near the Hamburg Mitchell Access Landing after their boat capsized on August 21, 2016. Authorities said that the boat ran out of gas and floated downstream, finally striking a barge. Both men were thrown from the boat. Fields was rescued shortly after entering the water. Divers have been searching for Grayson since the accident. The search commenced at the 550.4 mile marker on August 24, 2016, where Grayson’s body was recovered. This was 4.5 miles south of where the accident occurred. Neither of the boaters were wearing a life jacket.
