The Lady Wolves have played some riveting volleyball games. The fans came out and supported with bright colors and interesting costumes to keep the girls going. On Tuesday, August 30, the Wolves faced the Maryville Spoofhounds. They played a JV match that proved that the Wolves have some solid talent in the upcoming younger classmen.
In the first match the Lady Wolves came up 11 points short with a score of 14 to 25. But the Wolves refused to go down without a fight. There were many serve runs and great spikes. Even though the Wolves gave it their all, the ending score was 22 to 25 in favor of the Spoofhounds.
After the JV match the varsity also had a great match. The first set was interesting. The Wolves had some really great serves and despite some mistakes, the Wolves refused to get down on themselves. The ending score for the first set was 7 to 25 for the Spoofhounds. Their teamwork shined through in the second set. There were many great bump, set, spike combos and many impressive serves. The Wolves worked hard the whole game, but unfortunately lost 21 to 25 in the second set.
The Lady Wolves traveled to South Page in College Springs, Iowa, for some great sets. The Wolves’ JV showed the powerhouses that they are. The first set ended with a score of 25 to 6 in favor of the Wolves. In this set Tacy Michell had 17 serves in a row. The second set ended with a score of 25 to 4 for the Wolves. And the last set was 25 to 13 for the Wolves. Overall JV had an amazing night.
The Varsity Wolves also had some great sets. The first set the Wolves showed no mercy with a score of 25 to 4 for the Wolves. In the second set the Wolves won with a score of 25 to 12. In the third set the Wolves won again with a score of 17 to 25. This game also included some amazing stats. Tacy Michell had 24 aces overall and Jaycee Graves also hit .455 which is a really good spiking stat.
The Wolves also participated in the Tarkio Tournament on Saturday and took first place!
